The laboratory Eau et Environnement of the Université Gustave Eiffel is happy to welcome you to the 20th anniversary of the Doctoral Days in Urban Hydrology (JDHU) from October 2 to 4, 2024 in Nantes.
This conference is aimed at young researchers working in the urban hydrology field.
The JDHU have been organized every two years since 2004 by French urban hydrology research teams, in partnership with the "Urban Hydrology" working group shared by the water trade associations ASTEE and SHF. As in previous years, Suez Group supports the JDHU with rewards.
The JDHU allows participants to present their work and exchange views with researchers and practitioners of this field, to practice chairing scientific sessions, and to expand their professional network in urban hydrology. They also aim to encourage scientific collaborations between young researchers and promote multidisciplinary approaches between engineering sciences and human and social sciences.
Works related to the following themes will be welcome:
URBAN WATER RESOURCES AND SOLUTIONS FOR ADAPTATION - Quantification of sources/stocks (rain, groundwater, surface water) - Consumption & preservation - Observation/forecasting - Alternative stormwater management techniques: grey and nature-based solutions (operation, impacts, and other benefits) - Construction of adaptation strategies and evaluation URBAN WATER QUALITY - Characterization of pollutants - Pollutant dynamics - Monitoring quality parameters (pH, salinity, COD, BOD5, etc.) & new techniques - Sociology of wastewater - Ecotoxicity SEWAGE SYSTEMS - Wastewater, stormwater, combined sewers - Operation and management - Asset management - Storm overflows
DIGITAL MODELING - Development and parameterization - Sensitivity and calibration - Model evaluation/validation - Artificial intelligence METROLOGY - Conventional techniques - New technologies - Participatory science
This list of topics is not exhaustive: other ones related to urban hydrology will also be accepted, such as, for example, the Paris Olympic Games, global changes (climate/demography), humanities and social sciences.
